Paddling from Ft. Desoto to Egmont key or Shell Island is an adventure you won't soon forget. Dolphins, flying fish, manatee, sea turtles, sting ray, seabirds and other marine life often accompany paddlers on this trek. Egmont Key is a state park with a working light house, seabird sanctuary and ruins from the Spanish-American War-era.

Silver Springs’ crystal clear waters, tropical jungles and thick forests have served for decades as locations for the film and TV industries.  Wildlife includes birds, turtles, fish and often wild monkeys!  Recently re-instated as a state park, it is open once again.

Homossassa River plays winter host to manatee and various other wildlife.  We'll paddle to the manatee enclosure at Homosassa State Park and likely find a few visitors on the outside nearest to the spring.
